| If it weren't for the relatively high cost of this item, it would definitely get five stars. These click-on, click-off tailcaps should be standard issue on every surefire light to come off the production line. You can still press the button part way in for momentary-on, and rotate the tailcap for a lockout if you carry the light in a pocket. But the best thing about this tailcap is the click-on feature. No more holding the tailcap button with my thumb for three minutes while I hunt around in the dark. Gone, too, are the hassles of having to use two hands (twisting the tailcap) to get the light into the constant-on setting. Surefire, ARE YOU LISTENING, make these standard issue! |
Click on Lock out tailcap

This is my first Z59 click-on lock out tailcap. Almost all of my other surefires have the "twisty" tailcap that I have subsequently retrofitted with aftermarket parts to either a clicky or a 3 stage soft start switch (clicky).
I got this part because I picked up an aftermarket clip that mounts on the tailcap. The Z59 is similar in function to my other modified surefire switched - but the "twist on lock out" tailcaps are generally what comes with the lights - so I modified them (for under $20 each).
If I had choice from the beginning I would rather have stayed surefire all the way - rather than modifying - Surefire has superb customer service and has great products. |
A MUST for pretty much every Surefire light

| I personally believe that this tailcap belongs on the end of every Surefire. I have bought one for all my Surefires (and I have many) except the Aviator light. A+ |
a good one

| A lock out tail cap is a nice addition to any Surefire light that comes with a twist cap like the G2. For normal operation and general purpose use you probably won't need a lock out. For anyone uses a G2 as a weapon light it is almost mandatory though. If the ability to have your light constantly on is important to you, and the need to be able to do it one handed too, then this cap is what you are looking for. It is made with the usual Surefire care and quality. |
