| I bought this for my wife who spends months at a time in the rain forest. She is typically wary of gimmicky outdoor gear (put off by weekend warriors who spend $400 on an @rcteryx jacket and think they're outdoorsy) yet she was quickly sold on it. The size is TINY and brightness is out of this world and can even be used to blind predators. Down side? It gets VERY hot with long use, and uses expensive batteries. I'd recommend any model Surefire. |

| i own 3 surefire flashlights, and can truly say that they are the best light made. the light is pure white and intense with no spots in the beam. great for self defense, the beam is bright enough to temporarily blind anyone who may be trying to harm you. i have not had to do this to a person, but while walking my dog at night, we encountered a loose barking dog advancing quickly towards us. i shot the light right in the dog's eyes, stopping it in its tracks giving me enough time to pick up my dog and remove him from harm. a surefire is a must have, and it may one day save your life. the only reason i give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the battery life is short, as should be expected of a light with this intesity. i am considering buying an led model, which should help me with the battery life |

Still not sure why Amazon is not carrying Surefire. I became a Surefire freak after my boss showed me his collection of lights. My wife usually didn't like me buying things especially a flashlight that is over $100. But after she saw the size of E2D and what it can do she agreed that Surefire is the only light you should own and a great gift for friends and family. Right now she is trying to take all the surefire lights I have from me.

SureFire started off making laser sighting systems for use with fire arms. Their success in laser sighting systems made it natural to continue their product line to include all kinds of tactical handheld illumination tools.
The E2E's shell is made of aircraft grade machined aluminum. The cross hatch pattern on the body serves the same function as the G2's molded grid.
The smaller size, brighter beam, greater features of the SureFire flashlights make them a better choice for folks looking for the best in personal illumination tools!
