| The SureFire 6P Defender is a compact, high-output flashlight with enhanced self-defense features. It uses a precision micro-textured reflector and a SureFire incandescent lamp to produce a smooth, brilliant beam with enough power to temporarily blind and disorient an aggressor by impairing his night-adapted vision. Output is either 65 or 120 lumens, depending on which easy-to-install lamp you use-high-output or ultra high-output. The 6P Defender's crenellated Strike Bezel provides further personal defense options. The pushbutton tailcap switch provides secure, ergonomic activation control: press for momentary-on, press further to click constant-on. |

A Fighting Flashlight

Surefire has got to be the most "hardcore" flashlight on the planet. There quality is hard to beat, maybe even impossible! The defender is the only "tactical" flashlight I own for the fact that it not only offers blinding illumination, but a strike bezel for self defense. This is the full expression of what a fighting flashlight should be. An excellent choice for anyone interested a tactical flashlight.
What should also be noted about this flashlight is that the window is recessed significantly below the bezel to protect it from impact. This feature is a must for a flashlight designed for self defense.
The only other flashlight I could recommend for defensive purposes would be the SureFire Executive model.
Note:
If your looking for a flashlight for every day (general use), this flashlight won't be the best choice for you as they have a specialized purpose. You might be better off with a MagLite or a rechargable. Because of the intense output power of the SureFire units, they do not hold a charge with over extended use. |
It has no equal..

| I have tried many, many small flashlights, but nothing I have ever used remotely compares with my new SureFire Defender. From a quality construction standpoint, it has no equal. The beam is brighter than my 3 cell MagLight & in a much smaller package. If you need a small personal "very bright" light.. By all means buy one.. High price aside, You will NOT regret it.. |

Great Torch! Even Better With A Drop In Mod!

The Surefire 6P Defender goes beyond your average Maglite. It has a quality build, is water resistant, and is small and light enough to carry in your pocket.
The strike bezel on the head of the flashlight is great for added protection, and although it does not look like much, is capable of causing some serious damage!
I love the tactical tail cap switch for convenient momentary or constant on/off. It does not strain your thumb to hold it down as with some cheaper lights.
The reason for 4 stars is that for the price, there are brighter models out there with duel modes, like the Fenix TK10 or 11 models, as well as the Eagletac T10LC2 with its 6o lumen mode and 295 lumen high mode.
But, I would recommend the 6P to anyone who has been in the market for this flashlight. It feels great in your hand, and you can just feel the quality.
A great option to mod this torch is to purchase a Malkoff M60L or M60 led drop in for increased brightness. Note that these drop-ins were made specifically for Surefires and are of great quality.
The M60L is rated at 140 lumen with a constant 4 ½ hour light output (then 2 hours or so useful light). The M60 is rated at 235 lumens for a 90 minute constant output runtime.
Both currently cost $55 each.

Very bright, tightly focused beam. Ability to change out bulb assembly to make it even brighter.
Positive, well placed, easy to use switch. Switch can be locked off to prevent inadvertent activation.
Knurled case provides positive grip.
If everything else goes wrong and you have to use your flashlight to defend yourself, the strike bezel should inflict incapacitating damage. Take some Kali lessons.
Well engineered and manufactured. |
