I was amazed with the light ouput on this flashlight – 700+ lumens. This uses one of the latest cutting edge LEDs from CREE and this thing throws out a scorching white light over 250+ meters easily.
In fact you will get serious eye damage if you look at the light beam pointed towards your face at full power.
The flashlight is waterproof with rubber seals all over, there are additional rubber seals/rings which come in the box, a nice carrying cover and carabiner. For the money there is no better deal.
The light automatically cycles through 3 levels of brightness and the 4th is a strobe function for emergency purposes. You just press the switch once and keep it pressed and within half a second increments, the light cycles through all modes. If you were to turn the flashlight off and turn it back on, it remembers the last mode.
I was impressed with the quality of this item. The best part is that this uses 6 AA batteries, I will recommend using Energizer NIMH AA batteries which are rated at 2300MAh, these last very long and I was easily able to get 2 hours with full 700 lumens mode running continouslly.
