Product Description

The T-Series puts strategic advantage into the hands of professionals for whom every thought, action and piece of equipment can be critical to the mission. That's why police and military professionals around the world rely on Inova flashlights to get the job done.

The Inova T4 offers major benefits over competing rechargeables because it provides up to two times the burn time (as much as two hours of constant uniform light output) and recharges in about a quarter of the time. The T4 can be recharged any time, without waiting for the battery to be fully discharged--and the battery can be recharged hundreds of times. The 125-Lumen LED source is effective up to 300 feet--visibly illuminating objects at football-field distances.

This advanced light comes in a sturdy, aircraft-grade aluminum body that's machined from solid bar stock (not extruded tubing), with a military-grade Type III anodized hard-coat head. It boasts a mid-body switch that's located for optimal control.

The T4's lifetime LED bulbs are virtually indestructible, and the light's power regulation offers constant, uniform light output brightness over battery life. Includes charger cradle plus power supplies for AC and DC charging.

BEST flashlight there is

The Inova T4 is the best flashlight there is. It is extrememly reliable. I dropped it many times on concrete floors and it never breaks, but it does slightly scratch. The recharging is extremely easy, whether in your car or at home.
Does what it says, Quality Build, Made in America

Bottom Line:

The light throws a beam 300' or more. It charged in 2 hours, even though it was on the porch in a box at 30F all day. The build is solid, but not to heavy. The modes of operation are simple. Momentary, on full, strobe, on low, off. Easy to select. Don't need 8000 modes on a flashlight.

Everything, including charger, have the fit and finish I would expect for the money.

This light will spend its heavy use time in IDPA (pistol matches, require hand held lights) and will get a beating from drops and recoil. If it fails in any I will post an update.

So far, so good.
Police Reveiw of Inova T4, 2009 Series

As a police officer I rely on my equipment to save my life. None of us are nice to our equipment so when a cop gives an assessment of a product, it is from a worse case/best case scenario. The following review is based on real world application in a profession that does not forgive.

Emmisive Energy Corp: Inova T4.

This light outperforms expectation in an urban environment. Battery life is exceptional along with the charging time. Beam is very focused. The light's strobe was found to be effective in disorienting suspects both in darkness and in semi-lit areas. Fit and finish are very good with the light being comfortable to use and work with.

Pros: After being dropped on concrete from shoulder height several times over the last seven months, this light still performs flawlessly. Great shock resistance. On/off button easy to use and switch between strobe and low power. Battery life and charging time significantly better then competing companies (Surefire, Streamlight).

Cons: The on/off switch sometimes will not hold the light on. I have found that you will sometimes have to keep pushing the switch to get the light off of "momentary on/off".

Not to be used in contact with ANY water.
Inova claims that the light is water resistant. After speaking with Dot (ext. 204) in the customer service dept. I was informed that the light would withstand momentary submergence in a puddle. Washing off a biological contaminate (blood) under the sink faucet exceeded the "water resistant" claim. Water was found inside the battery compartment and toggle switch area which caused the light to stop working. Inova offered to take the light, battery and charging cradle back. The charge would then be $39.95 for a replacement.

As an update, after speaking with Laurie with Emmisive Energy Corp, they have agreed to replace the light at no cost. Laurie did state that placing the light under running water exceeded the "water resistant" capability.

Best Workhorse Flashlight I've Found

Review Date: July 4, 2009
Reviewer: Mail Debaser,
My flashlights are an absolute necessity for my job. I'd been through several brands and models, until four years ago, a co-worker mentioned a newer company called Inova. I bought one of the original T4's (thick lense). I loved it so much, in 2008, I retired my piece-of-garbage Streamlight, and purchased a 2008 model T4 to use alongside my original model.

The charge time is fantastic, and the light, nice and bright, seemed to last forever between charges. I particularly like the light's reaction to a low battery. Instead of slowly dwindling like a Streamlight, the light turns itself off, but gives second long full bursts of light. Just enough to complete a minor task.

Until this past week, I'd never encountered a problem with either Inova light. BUT, my original T4 just experienced a malfunction, and will not turn on, though it is fully charged.

[...]
I should also mention I am very VERY hard on my equipment. My job can be very physically demanding, and I am exposed to all the elements (snow, rain, sun, heat, high humidity, cold...VERY cold weather). My original T4 was dropped dozens of times, is severely nicked in areas from harsh wear and tear, and never EVER failed me prior to this single occasion.

I have several co-workers who have gone through several Streamlights, SureFires and other brands in the time I have owned my initial T4. Most have now turned to Inova for the durability, the bright LED light and fast charge times.

Although disappointed my initial T4 conked, I am surely impressed by my experience with their customer service. I'm hooked on Inova lights and would not recommend any other.
Best flashlight I've ever had.

Reviewer: Edward Smith,
I've been in the food manufacturing industry for 11+ years. I've only used stingers in my career. I recently started a new job which required extensive inspection of food manufacturing equipment. The equipment is in areas with very good lighting and my stinger was not sufficient, both in battery and brightness. I read the reviews here and gave it a whirl. It has twice the battery life between charges and blows the stinger away in brightness. If you need a flashlight for viewing at distance, ceilings for example, I would stay with the stinger ultra. For inspecting equipment, T4 blows the stinger away.

  1. I bought the Inova T4 a few years ago and sent it back right away, because compared to other lights I own with lower lumen output this light was far from its claimed lumen rating. NOT bright at all, not worth the money at all, however the company sent it back to me and said there was nothing they could do and where not willing to refund my money.
